Bicomponent Adhesive

Equipment for the application of two-component polyurethane adhesives for components with viscosities up to 30,000 cps.

Two-component polyurethane adhesives are increasingly used in many sectors where high performance is required. The bicomponent offers a long open time with short press times. This, together with a high tensile strength, makes it an indispensable product for many processes.

This equipment is present in various sectors such as sandwich panel construction or for car bodies. A steel, aluminum, fiberglass or polyester sheet with a core of polyurethane, expanded polystyrene or extruded polystyrene is normally used to manufacture the panels. These are used for construction or for the isothermal/refrigerated body sector. Wood, fiber cement or rock wool are other materials that use this type of adhesive.

We have adapted our polyurethane know-how to our adhesive application machines. Machines with precision gear pumps, heads with independent valves, dynamic agitator with T-shaped outlet, recirculation and temperature control of the components, together with a PLC / touch screen control.

This equipment works with variable ratios (type 100:20-25) and products with viscosities up to 30,000 cps. It has two independent circuits, one for component A polyol and the other for component B isocyanate (hardener). In the process, the components are recirculated from the tanks to the head and, thanks to the dynamic agitator, allow a homogeneous mixture to be produced. These machines usually work with a head translation system that allows a pre-set gr/m2 consumption with a uniform distribution of the adhesive.
